Education is a never ending process in a person's life and it’s the responsibility of each and every individual to update themselves as the time goes on. Along with education, skills also play a major role in providing efficient care to a patient. Therefore it’s necessary to improve knowledge as well as skills in providing quality care.
A total of 22 staff nurses attended the program from Kasturba Hospital, 沙巴体育 and Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi. The group was welcomed by Ms Madhurikranta Mukherjee, II year M.Sc. Nursing student by signifying the importance of learning in life. The overview of the CNE was given by Ms Debolina Ghosh, II year M.Sc. Nursing student.
Dr Judith A Noronha, Professor & HoD, Department of OBG Nursing gave a brief introduction on Eclampsia and also demonstrated the proper way of measurement of blood pressure and the importance of the same. ?

The session on Eclampsia and its management was dealt by Dr Shripad Hebbar, Head of Unit V, Department of OBG, Kasturba Hospital, 沙巴体育. First he dealt with the basis of eclampsia and how the disease progresses, also explained how important it is for a midwife to know about the management of eclampsia as in periphery settings a nurse midwife takes a primary role in caring for a patient. Dr Hebbar in detail took the management and taught calculation of drug dosage in various regimens in eclampsia management and also step wise dealt with the onsite care of a patient presenting with eclampsia.

A mock drill was conducted by Dr Shripad Hebbar along with Dr Solletti Vani, Post Graduate, Department of OBG, Kasturba Hospital, 沙巴体育. The OBG nursing lab was set up for the demonstration. A scenario was presented to the delegates who were divided into three groups. The delegates were asked to perform the management of an eclamptic patient presented in labour room. The teams performed the drill under the guidance of Dr Solletti Vani and cleared their doubts.
Mrs Ranjani P, Assistant Professor, Department of OBG Nursing, 沙巴体育 College of Nursing 沙巴体育 took a brief session on nursing management of a patient with Eclampsia.
The programme ended by distributing certificates and the group was thanked by Ms Priyanka Rekha Mondal, II year M.Sc. Nursing student by acknowledging the team for their participation and hard work.?
